Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information is collected on the site, what it is used for, who receives it and what rights you have regarding it.
About This Policy
The site is operated by Ogintz Law Firm, which is the controller of the database in which details collected on the site are stored. This policy was written in light of the Israeli Privacy Protection Law, 5741–1981, including Amendment No. 13 to the Law, and the Privacy Protection (Data Security) Regulations, 5777–2017.
This policy applies to information collected through the site and to inquiries received through it. Information provided in the course of legal representation is also subject to the confidentiality and privilege obligations that apply to lawyers. The Hebrew version is written in the plural and addresses all genders.
What Information Is Collected
- Details you provide in the contact form: full name and phone number (required fields) and, at your choice, an email address, the subject area and the content of your message.
- Details you provide when contacting the firm directly by phone or email.
- Technical information recorded automatically in the hosting provider's server logs while you browse, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request.
The site does not use traffic analytics, personalized advertising or user tracking tools.
Purposes of Use
- Responding to your inquiry and contacting you about it.
- Preliminary assessment of whether the firm can handle the inquiry, including checking for any impediment such as a conflict of interest.
- Operating and securing the site and filtering spam submissions.
- Complying with the firm's legal obligations.
We will not use the details you provide for marketing or promotional mailings, and we will not sell them or give them to third parties for their own independent use.
Are You Required to Provide Information?
You are under no legal obligation to provide the information, and doing so is at your own free will. However, without a name and phone number we cannot handle an inquiry sent through the form or get back to you. Providing an email address, subject area and message content is optional. If you prefer not to provide details in the form, you may contact the firm directly by phone.
Do not send sensitive or confidential information through the form, such as medical or criminal information or case details. Such details should be provided, if needed, only after speaking with a lawyer at the firm. Sending an inquiry does not create a lawyer–client relationship.
Who Receives the Information
The information is accessible to the firm's authorized lawyers and staff, only to the extent needed to handle the inquiry. To operate the site, information is also transferred to the following parties:
- Netlify, Inc. — the site's hosting provider. Form submissions are stored in its systems, including spam filtering, and it also processes the server logs. Its servers are located outside Israel, including in the United States.
- Google — the site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser sends Google your IP address and basic browser details when the page loads.
- External websites — some blog articles include a link preview with an image loaded directly from the linked website, which may receive your IP address. Use of information by external websites is subject to their own policies.
- Competent authorities — where required by law or by an order of a competent authority.
Because these service providers operate outside Israel, the information is transferred outside Israel. The transfer is made solely to operate the site, subject to the Privacy Protection (Transfer of Data to Databases Abroad) Regulations, 5761–2001.
Cookies and Browser Storage
The site does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Accessibility menu settings, if you choose them, are saved only in your browser's local storage on your device and are not sent to us. You can delete them with the reset button in the accessibility menu or in your browser settings. Your language choice is kept only in the page address.
The staff login area uses a strictly necessary cookie to identify the signed-in staff member. This cookie is not created for other visitors.
Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable measures to secure the information, including an encrypted connection to the site (HTTPS) and restricting access to inquiries to authorized persons at the firm. However, no internet-connected system is completely immune to intrusion or failure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Information is kept for as long as it is needed for the purposes for which it was collected, or longer if required by law. Information that is no longer needed will be deleted.
Your Rights
- Right of access: to review information about you held in the firm's database (section 13 of the Law), subject to the exceptions set by law.
- Right to correction and deletion: to request that information that is incorrect, incomplete, unclear or outdated be corrected or deleted (section 14 of the Law).
- Filing a complaint with the Privacy Protection Authority at the Ministry of Justice if you believe your information is not being handled lawfully.
To request access, correction or deletion, contact us in writing using the details below. To protect the information, we may ask to verify your identity before handling the request. We will respond within the period set by law.
